The Junior Data Engineer will support day-to-day monitoring and operational activities related to data engineering pipelines and applications. The role includes first-level checks, basic troubleshooting, data validation, ticket updates, and documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor scheduled data pipeline runs, job status, alerts, file arrivals, and data refresh activities.
- Perform first-level checks for failed jobs, missing files, incomplete loads, data mismatches, and alert notifications.
- Create, update, and track incidents, service requests, tasks, and change requests in ServiceNow.
- Run basic SQL queries and perform data checks and validation.
- Validate job outputs and support source-to-target reconciliation activities.
- Collect logs, screenshots, error messages, and other supporting information before escalating complex issues.
- Assist with documentation, runbooks, SOPs, operational checklists, and daily status updates.
- Support knowledge transfer and other routine production support activities.
- Assist with monitoring reports and operational reporting under the guidance of senior team members.
- Follow established production support and data engineering processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Understanding of basic ETL/ELT concepts.
- Knowledge of data validation and data quality checks.
- Understanding of data pipeline monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of incident management and production support.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ticket updates is useful.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Basic troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Willingness to learn data engineering support processes.
- Knowledge of file-based data ingestion and SFTP is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of AWS S3 and awareness of AWS Glue is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or Databricks is an advantage.

- Awareness of CloudWatch or equivalent monitoring tools is beneficial.
